Meet Kimberly
Kimberly McClendon is an LPC Associate under the supervision of Ashley Wade, MA, LPC-S, RPT-S
Kimberly has over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents and their families. Before joining the Yellow City Playroom team, Kimberly worked as a school counselor in the public school system helping her students grow and learn through their struggles and challenges. Kimberly graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University and a Master of Education in Counseling and Development from Lamar University. Her therapeutic approach is person-centered and tailored to each unique individual. She has a passion for meeting people where they are and helping them see that there is always hope, even when walking through a difficult time. Throughout her life journey, Kimberly has learned that beauty emerges from ashes, and she strongly desires to help others find that same beauty in their own journey.
Kimberly sees children ages eight and up, adolescents, and adults through her Telehealth platform. Kimberly has been trained in Child Centered Play Therapy Techniques, Sandtray Therapy, and EMDR Therapy.
In her spare time, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her family, reading non-fiction books and autobiographies, golfing, and traveling to new places.
